Fossils Study of Crocodiles and Tiny Alligators

“Horse-hunting Crocodiles and Tiny Alligators:

Crocodilian Evolution after the Age of the Dinosaurs”

By Alex Hastings, Ph. D., USA

Crocodiles have had an impressively long evolutionary history. During the Age of the Dinosaurs they reached massive size and diversified into a wide array of forms, but their lineage did not die with the mass extinction that ended that era. After the massive ecological shifts that occurred, crocodilians adapted to new circumstances and have been enormously successful.
Dr. Hastings will present some of his research on this fascinating group of animals in the millions of years that have followed since the extinction including running crocodiles and dwarf alligators.
